Alongside Norway and Sweden, your Nordic holiday could include Finland, home to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland. Finland is part of the wider Nordic region and combines naturally with many Scandinavian itineraries.

A stay in Rovaniemi might include a visit to Santa Claus Village, a husky or reindeer sled experience, a reindeer farm or time enjoying snowy landscapes, depending on the season and availability.

Northern Lights viewing requires darkness and suitable conditions. In Rovaniemi, the viewing season generally runs from late August to early April. Sightings are never guaranteed, so it makes sense to allow several nights and include daytime experiences you will enjoy too.
